A Few Ballet Basics

So this was the YouTube video that I shared over Christmas, so apologies if you're watching this in Summer. However the tips I've included are quite helpful to see before you actually take part in a beginners' ballet class.

Most important of all is to really listen to your body, work within your own limits, use your common sense, & if something hurts, please do stop & get it checked out. Remember there's no need to turn your legs out beyond what is comfortable & likewise, there's no need to kick your legs up in the air. Please do make sure you work within your own mobility.

If you have any concerns at all or if it has been some time since you last exercised, please do double check with your doctor that you're well enough to undertake a ballet class. Although I will stress that these classes are purposely kept quite gentle. They are intentionally low impact, with no jumps as you build up your strength.
